Captain Foligno

Following the 15-year captaincy of franchise icon Jonathan Toews and a season played without a captain out of respect for his legacy, the Blackhawks were ready to name Nick Foligno the 36th captain in team history ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

As the content lead on the project, our production and publishing teams were able to plan out and execute a multi-faceted announcement across our channels to not only showcase how Foligno was surprised with the news, but why he was undoubtedly the right choice for the honor.

Drafting Bedard

As the content lead for the Blackhawks’ NHL Draft coverage each summer, 2023 was a monumental year during a transformative two-month period for the brand — from the moment Chicago won the rights to the No. 1 draft pick all the way through generational talent Connor Bedard’s first days in Chicago. 

Working with a cross-functional team across digital, social, communications, corporate partnerships, events & experiences and beyond, we planned and executed comprehensive coverage of the historic moment on-site at draft in Nashville and a team-hosted draft party in Chicago, led a campaign for record jersey sales in the hours after Bedard was selected, and executed a partnership activation with lead sponsor United Airlines across all our coverage.
